ABC Family Channel is looking for people in the 21-40ish age range living in the New York metropolitan area to take part in a new relationship show where your friends and family get to find you your... Perfect Match (working title) We're looking for men and women who have had bad luck with dating, despite the fact that they seem to have everything going for them... anyone who is interesting, outgoing and willing to go on TV to find their perfect match. We promise that this is not like any of those scary dating shows you see on TV now. This one is based on an award winning British television show that's a little more old-fashioned, romantic, and aims to really get people together. We would urge any single friend of ours to consider doing it because it's not at all scandalous or embarassing. It's a uniquely sweet relationship show that you could watch with your grandparents and something you would be proud to be a part of. This critically acclaimed show was a hit on Britain's Channel 4 and had an amazing success rate at creating long-term relationships for its participants. The show looks at relationships and dating but unlike other shows you won't be doing the choosing. Instead, you have to rely on a panel made up of the people that know you best. Along with a professional matchmaker, the panel could include your mom, dad, best friend or sister and they'll be picking your Perfect Match (working title) out of numerous eligible partners. It's the ultimate blind date... The first time you set eyes on your pre-selected Perfect Match (working title) will be when you start to share an apartment together. If things don't work out, you have two opportunities to ask the panel to throw out your roommate and bring in the panel's next choice! Filming will take place in February, March, April and May 2003 in New York. The filming will take around 5 weeks, but you will not have to give up work during the filming period.
